- NIARA INC, Big Data Security, 2015-2016, UWT, U$120,000, CO-PI. In this project I am working (with other collaborators from the ceter for data science) on applying machine learning techniques for automatic detection of malware.

- Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs). This is a three year research project funded by Intel Corp. I am together with researchers from Intel Labs in Santa Clara, CA, USA, working on provable secure protocols based on physical unclonable functions for a range of applications: disk encryption, device authentication, etc. Additionally, I am working on applications of deterministic extractors and error correcting codes for obtaining (efficiently) good PUFs from imperfect ones. - Protocols and Software for Command and Control. This is a project of about US$ 1,500,000.00 where a team of professors (I am one of two PIs) of the university of Brasilia is working, together with the Brazilian army, to develop solutions for commandand control. the research deals with quite wide range of topics such as: Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), SOA security, Network Security, middleware, Enterprise Service Bus, Mobile Ad-hoc Networks, cryptography for constrained environments, etc.
